Whitney Canton led the Blazer basketball team to a 2-1 mark over last week, which included a 69-63 comeback win on Feb. 6, that took down the top team in the MIAC, ending the Cobbers eight game winning streak. Canton finished with 17-points and seven rebounds against Concordia, while also adding four steals and three assists. Late in the game - with the Cobbers still well with the ability of a comeback – she hit jumpers on three consecutive trips down the floor, answering a Cobber basketball each time.
She opened the week with a double-double in the win at Augsburg scoring 19 points while pulling down 10 boards. And at the end of three games, she averaged 14.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 50% from the floor and 85% (11-of-13) from the free throw line. She also added 10 assists and eight steals on the week, and 17 of her rebounds came on the defensive glass, continually ending the opponent threat.
