High School: A 2012 graduate of Waconia High School, Schmitt was coached by Jim Lee and participated in volleyball (four years), basketball (four years), and track (one year). Schmitt earned all-conference honors in volleyball her senior season and is a two-time all-conference selection in basketball. She was also named team MVP. She earned academic all-conference all four years.

Personal: Schmitt is the daughter of Pam and Chuck Schmitt of Chaska, Minn. She enjoys sports, reading, and spending time with friends. Schmitt is majoring in nursing with a minor in hispanic studies. Her twin brother, Alex, plays basketball at SJU.
