CAREER – Earned two All-MIAC first team honors…finished with 28 career double doubles (kills/digs), and 56 matches with double-digit kills, including 23 in 2022. She recorded 3,005 attacks, .178 hitting mark, 620 digs, 92 total blocks and 1,071 points (3.48/set).
2022: In 2022, Heying earned a second straight All-MIAC honor...ranked fourth in the league with 3.53 kills/set and her total of 350 pushed her career total of 955...season total of 350 kills was the best of her career (294 in 2019)... ranked fifth in the league with 390.5 points or 3.91 per set... In 100 sets, made 1,082 attacks and a .210 hitting mark while registering 26 service aces with 345 digs and 25 blocks... had 23 double-doubles in 2022...had season-high of 19 kills on 41 attacks for .415 hitting mark vs. Lakeland...nine times had 15 or more kills...had a season-high/career-high 20 digs vs. North Park (9/03/22) and Saint Mary's (10/14/22)...led CSB to 15 wins and to the conference semifinals.
2021: Competed in all 77 sets as a junior ... led the team in kills with 281 ... recorded career-high 24 kills against Hope College on Sept. 4 ... third on the team in digs with 180 ... career-high 16 digs against Hamline on Nov. 3 ... second on the team in service aces with 20 ... 8th in the MIAC for kills and fourth in the MIAC for kills per set ... earned All-MIAC First Team honors.
2020-21: Saw time in 14 sets as a sophomore in a season that was shortened and played in Spring 2021 due to the COVID19 pandemic ... recorded 30 kills to go along with five total blocks ... also had seven digs.
2019: Appeared in 117 sets in her first year ... finished third on the team with 294 kills ... had 44 blocks this season ... recorded a career-high 16 kills against both Augsburg and Trinity ... recorded a career-high five total blocks against Concordia.
High School: Heying is a 2019 graduate of Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. At Cathedral, she kept busy playing volleyball, basketball, and softball for four years, and she also played for the Crusaders Juniors volleyball team. Her accomplishments include Granite Ridge All-Conference (2016-18), All-State (2018), Conference MVP (2018) and St. Cloud Times Athlete of the Year (2018). The proudest moment of her career was making it to the State Tournament after a five-set win over Sauk Centre.
Personal: Gabrielle is the daughter of Michael and Kristy Heying. She has one sibling, Isaac. When she’s not playing volleyball, she enjoys cooking, baking, and kayaking. She looks forward to being a student athlete and going into college with friends that have a shared interest in the sport with her and she will be majoring in Pre-Occupational Therapy.
