2023: OUTDOOR: Competed in six meets, recording two top-8 finishes ... set a career-best of 24.75m in the discus throw at the Norse Invite ... took 7th place in the javelin throw with a mark of 22.31m at the Gustie Twilight ... set a career-best mark of 34.49m in the hammer throw at the Janis Rider/Doug Bolstorff Invitational ... took 6th place in the javelin throw and set a career-best mark of 25.88m at the Meet of the UnSaintly ... INDOOR: Competed in four meets ... took 7th place in the shot put with a mark of 9.50m at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet ... set a career-best in the shot put with a mark of 9.83m at the Gopher Classic ... recorded a career-best mark of 10.87m in the weight throw at the CSB/SJU Invitational. 

High School: Sampson is a 2022 graduate of New London-Spicer High School. She participated in volleyball for four years, track for six years, and gymnastics for ten years. She was awarded MVP of field events in track, and received numerous dance awards including 2 spirit awards, most-improved, hardest worker, and state tournament academic honorable mention. The proudest moments of her career are receiving MVP of field events and proving that hard work pays off in her two years of throwing in track.
 
Personal: Skyla is the daughter of Sarah and Barry Sampson, and has two siblings, Blake and Shayla. She is studying in biochemistry, and in her free time she enjoys being outside, working out, and hanging out with family and friends. Skyla looks forward to continuing to stay active as a collegiate athlete.
