College of Saint Benedict

2024-25: Sydney played in 16 games with 3 starts, giving her a total of 381 minutes on the field. She scored one goal with 11 shots. Sydney had a season high four shots againsnt UW-Stevens Point on September 1st. Burns only goal this season was a game winning goal. Sydney earned the Academic All Conference Award. Burns will end her career with seven goals, seven assists, and 67 shots. 

2023-24: Burns earned the Academic All MIAC Award. She saw playing time in 18 games and started in three of them. She had one goal and 16 shots. 14 of those shots were on goal (third on the team) leaving her with a .875 SOG percentage.

2022-23: Earned Academic All-Conference... Played in 19 games, including starts in 8... recorded 1 goal and 3 assists for the season... finished with 17 shots, including 9 on goal... played 715 minutes. 

2021-22: Played in all 18 games, including starts in eight, as a first year ... recorded her first goal and first assist in first game against Minnesota Morris to pace team's 10-0 win ... scored total of four goals and recorded four assists on the season ... tied for ninth in the MIAC for assists with four ... finished with 23 shots, including 13 on goal ... played 751 minutes. 

High School: Burns is the 2021 graduate at the Academy of Holy Angels. She was active in alpine skiing for six years, track and field for four years, and soccer for four years. In skiing she earned All Conference from (2017-2021). In track and field she was awarded All Conference (2018 & 2020), Conference Honorable Mention (2019), Scholar of Distinction (2017-2021), High Honors Honor Roll (2020-2021), the Star Award Winner in 2021. For soccer Sydney earned All Conference Honorable mention (2020) and All State Tournament Team (2018). Sydney also played soccer for Salvo Soccer Club. Her proudest moment was when her high school soccer team went 13-0 in the season and was ranked first in the state for 2020. 

Personal: Sydney is the daughter of Deb and Jim Burns. Her siblings are named Lindsay and Austin. In her free time Burns enjoys skiing, water sports, and hiking. She is most excited to be a collegiate student-athlete because she gets to keep playing the sport she has loved since kindergarten. Sydney is majoring in Exercise and Health Science.
