Biography

2008:  Has good physical size to win air balls… has great crossing abilities into the box from the wide-middle position … excellent work ethic that help the Blazer defense stay effective.

2007: Started 19 games and played in all 21… scored one goal and assisted in a team leading four more… scored her one goal of the season against St. Olaf (Sept. 29, 2007) to lead St. Benedict to a 1-0 victory… was All-MIAC Honorable Mention.

2006: Started in 15 and played in all 17 games for Blazers … collected nine shots and two assists during the year … had an assist in the Blazers’ 4-0 win over Concordia University (Wis.) (Sept. 3, 2006) … assisted Adrianne Racek’s game-winning goal in the Blazers’ 5-1 win over St. Thomas (Oct. 25, 2006).

2005: Named Most Improved Player … started in 13 of the 17 games she played for Saint Benedict … became the corner kick specialist for the Blazers … scored a goal and registered an assist in the 6-0 victory over Minn.-Morris (Oct. 19, 2005) … had a total of four points on the season.

High School: A 2005 graduate of Watertown-Mayer High School, Vanderlinde was coached by Andy Kaufman … participated in soccer (four years), basketball (four years), softball (two years) and track and field (two years) during her athletic career at Watertown Mayer … All-Wright County Conference honorable mention selection in both soccer and basketball … captained the soccer team for three years and was a two-time MVP … also captain of the basketball team for two years.

Personal: Daughter of Sharon and Tony Vanderlinde of Maple Plain, Minn. … enjoys soccer, basketball, going to the beach, running, reading and rollerblading … majoring in communication with a minor in psychology.

Proudest moment of soccer career: “Making the Blazer soccer team. I have had so many great times on the team, but the one that is most memorable was defeating Concordia-Moorhead at home last season.”
