High School: Nelson played soccer for five years at Woodbury High School. She also participated in gymnastics for three years and golf for one. Nelson earned an academic award in soccer each year from 2009 to 2012, and also in gymnastics from 2011 until 2013.
Personal: Nelson is the daughter of Lisa and Christopher Nelson of Woodbury, Minn., and she has one sister, Annika. She enjoys drawing and painting and is double majoring in art and global leadership and business with a communications minor.
