Biography
2023-24: Young earned the Academic All MIAC and All Conference Award. She had 1332 minutes, the most on the team, and played in 18 games, starting in 14 of them. She had one goal, one assist, and 24 shots (fifth on the team). With 13 shots on goal (fifth on the team), she had a SOG percentage of .542. She had one game winning goal (tied for third on the team)
2022-23: Earned Academic All-MIAC... started in all 19 games, totaling 1320 minutes on the field... recorded 1 goal and 1 assist for the season... recorded 15 shots, including 6 on goal.
2021-22: Started in all 18 games as a sophomore ... scored two goals and recorded one assist on the season ... finished with 13 shots, including seven on goal ... played a total of 1443 minutes ... earned All-MIAC First Team honors.
2020-21: Saw playing time in all six games as a first year in a season that was shortened and played in Spring 2021 due to the COVID19 pandemic ... scored the game-winning goal in the 105th minute of a double-overtime win against Gustavus ... played 328 minutes.
High School: Young is a 2020 graduate of Hudson Senior High School where she participated in four years of soccer, basketball, and cross country. Her accomplishments for soccer include Big Rivers Conference Champions in 2019, Big Rivers Second Team All-Conference in 2019 and academic all-conference in 2019. She was part of the 2017 conference champion cross country team and earned academic all-conference in basketball and cross country 2018 and 2019. Her proudest achievement was scoring a hat trick, which led her team to a victory during their playoff season.
Personal: Ella is the daughter of Greg and Heidi Young and she has two siblings, Isaac and Kira. Some of her favorite activities include art, being outdoors, playing the flute, singing in choir, church, basketball, cross country, and playing soccer. Ella is majoring in chemistry with a concentration in pre-med and is very excited to be able to pursue her passion for soccer as well as her passion for her education at CSB/SJU.
