Allyson Draxler's Video Comments

2008: Uses her speed to oppose defenses at will … has great foot skills.

2007:  Started 14 of the 19 games that she played in… compiled two goals and two assists… she scored the only goal of the game against Gustavus Adolphus (Sept. 22, 2007) to lead St. Benedict to a 1-0 win.

2006: Named Rookie of the Year at the annual College of Saint Benedict Athletic Department Awards Ceremony (May 6, 2007) … made 12 starts and played in all 17 games for Saint Benedict … collected five goals and four assists for a total of 14 points … her 14 points and four assists ranked second on the team … tied for first on the team in goals … scored her first goal as a Blazer in a 4-0 win over Bethel (Sept 12, 2006) … scored the game-winning in the Blazers’ 1-0 win over St. Olaf (Sept. 16, 2006) … booted her second game-winning goal of the season in a 1-0 win over Hamline (Oct. 14, 2006) … tied for ninth place in assists in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference … named to the All-MIAC soccer team … named MVP of the Blazer soccer team.

High School: A 2005 graduate of Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School, Draxler was coached by James Cave … participated in soccer (four years), ice hockey (two years) and track and field (five years) during her athletic career at Benilde-St. Margaret’s … captained both her soccer and track and field teams … three-time selection to the All-North Suburban Conference track and field team … also selected to the All-North-Suburban Conference soccer team … awarded team MVP for track and field.    

Personal: Daughter of Cheryl and Tom Draxler of Plymouth, Minn. … enjoys playing soccer and running … member of the Pre-Med Club at CSB/SJU … majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish.

Proudest moment of her soccer career: “Playing on my high school team my freshmen year. Our team got along really well which helped us be successful.”

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I enjoy having the opportunity to do well in both athletics and academics.”
