Biography
2008: Tremendous in the air … has a physical presence in the center back position …a great team leader…dependable defender that has played in every game in her career at Saint Benedict.
2007: Started 19 games and played in all 21… scored two goals… Co-Team Most Valuable Player… scored her first goal of the year against Augsburg to help lead the Blazers to a 2-0 victory.
2006: Made a start in all 17 games for Saint Benedict … was a vital member to the Blazer defense that had a .92 goals against average.
2005: Started all 17 games for the Blazers … anchored the CSB defense that had an .86 goals against average on the season, which was fourth best in the MIAC.
High School: A 2005 graduate of the Academy of Holy Angels High School, Loftus was coached by Mark Cook … participated in soccer (four years), basketball (four years) and track and field (one year) during her athletic career at Holy Angels … captained the soccer team her senior year … team MVP, All-Missota Conference team selection and All-State selection in 2005… Her team won the Class A state championship in 2003.
Personal: Daughter of Julie and Ray Loftus of Savage, Minn. … enjoys running, reading, watching the Minnesota Twins and spending time with friends … majoring in mathematics and Spanish with a minor in management.
Proudest moment of her soccer career
"Being a member of the Blazer soccer team and starting in every game of my first-year and sophmore seasons."
What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “Soccer gives me a break from the stresses of classes and homework. At the same time, classes help take my mind off a bad practice or game.”
