Annie Haws's Video Comments

2008:  Battled injury last year… will add depth and experience to this year’s team.

2007: Started in nine games and played in 16.

2006: Made three starts and played in 16 games for the Blazers … collected two goals during the season … her first goal came in the Blazers’ 4-0 win over Concordia University (Wis.) (Sept. 3, 2006) … tallied a goal in the Blazers’ 5-1 win over St. Thomas (Oct. 25, 2006).

2005: Started in six of the 16 games she played in for Saint Benedict … made an immediate impact on the field for the Blazers by scoring a goal against Carleton College in her first collegiate start (Oct. 1, 2005) … second goal of the season came in the 6-0 victory over Minn.-Morris (Oct. 19, 2005) … had a total of five points on the season with two goals and one assist. 

High School: A 2005 graduate of Saint John’s Preparatory High School, Haws was coached by Kris Fremo … participated in soccer, basketball and softball for six years each during her athletic career at St. John’s Preparatory … three-time team MVP and two-year captain in soccer … received All-State First Team honors two-times  … named to the All-Prairie Conference team for soccer (four years), basketball (two years) and softball (two years) … named St. Cloud Times All-Area soccer player of the year in 2004 … collected 32 goals and 18 assists in her high school career.

Personal: Daughter of Mary Ann and Pat Haws of Avon, Minn. … both mother and father attended CSB/SJU … is a fourth generation student to have attended CSB/SJU … father is the head coach of the Saint John’s soccer team... enjoys canoeing, outdoor activities, playing the piano and trumpet and watching any sporting event … majoring in biology.

Proudest moment of her soccer career: “Scoring my first collegiate goal in my first collegiate start.”

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I like the fact that I am part of a team.  They count on me and I count on them on and off the field.”
