COLD SPRING, Minn . - Battling misty conditions from start to finish, the College of Saint Benedict cross country team finished fifth out of eight teams in the six-kilometer race at the Toni St. Pierre Invitational Friday night, Sept. 18.  

Senior Anabella Witschen (Monticello, Minn./Monticello) led the Bennies with a 21st-place finish, crossing the line with a time of 23:41.3. Sophomore Daphne Grobstein (Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins) and first-year Sophia Wolf (Spokane, Wash./Lewis & Clark) closely followed, finishing in 22nd and 23rd with times of 23:46.8 and 23:47.5, respectively. Senior Abby Bufkin (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain) rounded out the Bennies within the top-25, as she finished 25th with a time of 23:56.6. 

 

Carleton College claimed the victory, followed by Macalester College and The College of Saint Scholastica. Macalester's Ingrid Norquist took home individual medalist honors, crossing the finish line with a time of 21:58.7.
