FARMINGTON, Minn. - After leading College of Saint Benedict volleyball to a 3-1 week, senior Kali Jones (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) reeled in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Offensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the organization Monday. Sept. 14. It is the first weekly accolade for the Bennies this season and the second in Jones' decorated career. 

 

Jones led the offense to three wins over four week, including a sweep of No. 5 Berry College. For the week, Jones recorded 53 kills, an average of 3.53 per set, nine aces, averaging 0.60 per set, 48 digs, an average of 3.20 per set, eight blocks and two assists, totaling 66 points on the week.  

 

The senior opened the week with a 12-kill, 10-dig double-double performance against Asbury University Friday, Sept. 11, while adding four aces, one assist and a block to her stat line. She followed with 18 kills on a .277 clip, four aces, 12 digs and a block, racking up 22.5 points in the five-set win over Elmhurst University Friday night. Helping the Bennies upset Berry, Jones posted nine kills, 12 digs, an ace, one block and an assist in the match Saturday afternoon, Sept. 12. Jones closed out the week with a dominant performance in the sweep of Transylvania University, recording 14 kills on a .268 showing, 14 digs, and finished with a career-high five blocks. 

 

Jones and the Bennies return home to host University of Wisconsin-Stout Wednesday night, Sept. 16. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Claire Lynch Hall.
