Rachael Click announced the hiring of recent graduate
Olivia Wallace as a full-time assistant coach Tuesday, July 28. Following a decorated career at CSB, Wallace moves into a role on the coaching staff where she will work primarily with the pitching staff. She officially begins Aug. 11.
"I am very excited to welcome Olivia Wallace back to St. Joe to join our coaching staff," Click stated. "She knows firsthand what it takes to play at a championship level. Olivia was an excellent student-athlete who was able to balance a rigorous course load and perform on the field at a high level. Because of her experience, she will be a terrific role model for our current student athletes and a natural advocate of Saint Ben's and our softball program."
Wallace, who graduated this spring with a degree in biology, recently concluded a decorated career as a Bennie. The pitcher appeared in 79 games over her career, tossing a total of 321 innings and 23 complete games. She finished her career with a record of 29-18, including two shutouts, and added a pair of saves. Wallace tallied 175 strikeouts over her career while limiting opponents to a .291 batting average en route to a 3.14 career earned run average.
"I am incredibly honored and excited to return to the College of Saint Benedict as an assistant softball coach," said Wallace. "Saint Ben's has given me so much over the past four years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to a program and community that has had such a profound impact on my life. Having the opportunity to coach alongside the mentors who invested in my growth while helping develop the next generation of Bennie softball players is truly a full-circle moment, and I couldn't be more excited to get started.
"It is a true privilege to return to the program and coach alongside Coach Click. She invested so much in my development as a student-athlete, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue learning from her in this new role while giving back to the program that has given me so much."
Over her career, Wallace was twice named All-MIAC, earning the honor in 2025 and 2026, and was named the MIAC Pitcher of the Week once (March 3, 2025). The Maple Grove, Minn. native also reeled in numerous academic accolades after excelling in the classroom. She was a three-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar Athlete (2023, 2024, 2025), a three-time Academic All-MIAC honoree (2024, 2025, 2026), twice named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District (2025, 2026) and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Chapter in 2025.
Wallace helped CSB make two NCAA postseason appearances, as the Bennies made the NCAA Regional Championship series in 2024 and 2026. With her help in the circle, Saint Benedict won the MIAC regular season championship twice (2024 and 2026) and claimed the program's first MIAC Playoff Championship in 2026.
CSB collected a school-record 36 wins (36-11 overall) and captured both the MIAC championships en route to its seventh NCAA postseason appearance. The Bennies ended their season ranked second in Division III in walks (216), 12th in RBI (302), 13th in total runs (333) and 19th in home runs (34).
