ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Senior Day belonged to the veterans Saturday as four seniors played pivotal roles in leading the College of Saint Benedict hockey team to a 7-0 victory over Dubuque on Jan. 10 at Ritsche Arena.
Before honoring their six seniors in a post-game ceremony, the Bennies (8-2-3) extended their winning streak to three games and posted their second consecutive shutout of the Spartans (2-13-0). Over two home games this weekend, CSB outscored Dubuque, 17-0. CSB had shutouts in back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 26-27, 2025 (Northland). The Bennies have allowed one goal over the past three games, and held opponents to one goal or less in eight games this season.
Three seniors figured prominently on the scoresheet.
Jamie Bimberg (Chanhassen, Minn.) scored her first goal of the season and added an assist,
Mia Lopez (Plymouth, Minn.) recorded two assists, and
Presley Kraemer (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) found the net again to give her four goals on the weekend, eight this season and 20 for her career. In goal,
Ellynor Haack (St. Paul, Minn.) made 10 saves to earn her first shutout of the season and second of her career in her first start of the year. Seniors
Chloe Lewis (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and
Kaya Pelton-Byce (Madison, Wis.) also contributed to the win.
First-year
Tana Carlson (Anchorage, Alaska) added a milestone moment, scoring the first goal of her collegiate career.
Saint Benedict dominated play throughout the game, outshooting Dubuque 49-10, including a 17-4 advantage in the opening period while building a 3-0 lead. First-year
Helena Siska (Naperville, Ill.) opened the score at 3:57 of the first period, finishing a play set up by
Skylar Salscheider (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.). Siska, who added two assists on the night, scored her sixth goal of the season.
At 11:46 of the first period, junior
Ella Tuccitto (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) doubled the lead with her fifth goal of the season on an unassisted tally. The Bennies made it 3-0 just 46 seconds later when Bimberg scored her first goal of the season (third in her career) at 12:32, assisted by Salscheider and Tuccitto.
CSB continued to control the game in the second period, holding a 13-4 shot edge and scoring three more times. Carlson made it 4-0 at 10:09 with help from Lopez. Kraemer followed with a power-play goal at 14:07 for her fourth goal in two games, with assists from Siska and Bimberg. Just before the intermission, sophomore
Camryn Hargreaves (Minnetrista, Minn.) pushed the lead to 6-0 with her third goal in two games and 10th of her career, assisted by Siska.
The Bennies capped the scoring early in the third period when junior
Shae Stinnett (North Oaks, Minn.) scored her second goal of the season just 50 seconds in, finishing a pass from Lopez, who now has five assists on the year.
Saint Benedict also controlled the faceoff circle, winning 65.7 percent of draws (46-of-70). Lewis led the way by winning 17-of-26 faceoffs (65.4 percent), while Lopez went 12-of-16 (75 percent) and Siska finished 8-of-11 (72.7 percent).
CSB returns to action next weekend with a home-and-home series against St. Catherine, beginning Friday, Jan. 16, in St. Paul at 7 p.m. and concluding Saturday, Jan. 17, at Ritsche Arena at 6 p.m.
