CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team earned a split at the Coe Tournament on Saturday, falling to (RV) Coe College in straight sets before bouncing back with a four-set victory over Cornell College. With the 1-1 result, the Bennies improved to 8-1 on the season.
CSB, which received votes (33) in the most recent AVCA/Taraflex DIII Top 25 poll, now return home to host the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire at 7 p.m., at Claire Lynch Hall.

Chaeli Haupert moved to within three digs of 1,000 for her career by registering 31 to push the total to 997.

In the first game of the day, Saint Benedict saw its seven-match win streak come to an end in a 3-0 loss to Coe (13-25, 20-25, 18-25). CSB struggled to find rhythm offensively, hitting just .084 as a team with 26 kills on 107 swings. Coe countered with an efficient performance, hitting .279 with 42 kills. Despite the loss, three Bennies recorded six kills each:

Kali Jones, and

Izzy Torve finished with 14 assists and four digs.
(RV) Saint Benedict 3 Cornell 1
Saint Benedict regrouped quickly in its second match, earning a hard-fought 3-1 win over Cornell (26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19). First-year outside hitter
Brooke Siegle delivered a breakout performance, recording a career-high 13 kills, including six in the opening set. Andries matched her with 13 kills on 23 swings, hitting a stellar .522, while Jones posted her 26th career double-double with 12 kills and 21 digs—just one shy of her career best.
CSB showed resilience in the first set, coming from behind twice to edge out Cornell 26-24. The momentum carried into the second, where service pressure and timely kills helped build a 2-0 match lead. Cornell responded with a third-set win, but the Bennies closed strong in the fourth, powered by strong net play and consistent defense.
Haupert added 16 more digs in the match, bringing her career total to 997, just three shy of the 1,000 mark. Knofczynski contributed nine kills and a block, while CSB served up 11 aces as a team, including two each from Jones, Siegle, Ingrid Hoha, and Bridget Burns.
The Bennies now return home to Claire Lynch Hall to host UW-Eau Claire at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
