BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – First-year outfielder
Lily Treml was named MIAC Rookie of the Year, headlining a group of seven College of Saint Benedict softball players who earned All-Conference recognition as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its 2025 season awards.
Treml becomes the fifth player in program history to earn Rookie of the Year honors, joining standout Bennies
Ellie Peterson (2023),
Bryn Carlstrom (2021), Ally Hjort (2018) and Kim Lidstone (2013). CSB has had three of the last five MIAC Rookie of the Year honorees.

Junior
Ellie Peterson was named All-MIAC for the third time in her career. Junior
Olivia Tautges earned her second career All-MIAC nod as did
Cat Smetana, who also has an honorable mention All-MIAC honor (2023).

Megan Erickson, and
Bryn Ruhberg were all first-time honorees. In program history, CSB has had an extraordinary 117 All-MIAC honorees.
In addition to their regular season accolades, Peterson, Wallace, and Ruhberg were also named to the All-MIAC Playoff Team. Peterson becomes CSB's first-ever two-time MIAC Playoff Team selection (2023, 2025) and brings the program's total playoff honorees to 19 since 2006.
This talented group helped lead the Bennies to a 26-14 overall record and a second-place MIAC finish (17-5) in 2025. CSB advanced to the conference championship game after a 3-2 semifinal win over St. Olaf, ultimately falling 5-3 to top-seeded Saint Mary's.
Lily Treml | First-Year | Outfielder | Shakopee, Minn.
In her first season with Saint Benedict, Treml had a .357 batting average (20
th, MIAC), .997 OPS (11
th, MIAC), 40 hits (20
th, MIAC), 27 runs, 13 extra base hits, including nine doubles (T-13
th, MIAC), three triples and a home run, and 25 RBI (16
th, MIAC). The standout first-year also had a .518 slugging percentage (19
th, MIAC), .479 on-base percentage (5
th, MIAC) and was 3-of-3 on stolen bases. She set a season school record with 27 walks, a mark which led the MIAC. Treml finished the season with 12 multi-hit games, including twice recording three hits in a game. She also had seven multi-RBI games - twice recording three RBI in a single game.
Cat Smetana | Junior | Infielder | Lake Elmo, Minn.
A consistent force at the plate and in the field, Smetana recently her second NFCA all-region nod (2023) following a breakout season. She now has earned two first-team All-MIAC honors and an honorable mention recognition. In 2025, the standout junior hit .380, ranking ninth in the MIAC, while also placing 12th in slugging percentage (.562) and 14th in OPS (.969). She drove in 40 runs (3rd, MIAC) and recorded 13 doubles (6th, MIAC). She finished with a team-high 15 multi-hit games, including eight of three hits or more and one game of four hits (Carleton, April 16, 2025). Additionally, Smetana, who had an eight-game hitting streak, recorded a team-high 10 multi-RBI games, including three games of three or more RBI with a season-high five RBI (Carleton, April 16, 2025). In the field, she was exceptional, posting a .986 fielding percentage with 276 putouts and 11 assists. Over her career, Smetana owns a .367 batting average (14
th all-time at CSB), .540 slugging with 123 hits, 28 doubles (10
th all-time at CSB), six home runs, and 68 RBI, alongside a career .993 fielding mark with 638 putouts. She was also named a MIAC Offensive Player of the Week in 2025.
Olivia Tautges | Junior | Shortstop | Brainerd, Minn.
Tautges, who was recently named second team all-region by the NFCA, turned in a dominant performance this season. She batted .380 (tied 9th, MIAC), slugged .603 (8th, MIAC), and recorded a 1.027 OPS (8th, MIAC). She also drove in 27 runs (8th, MIAC), tied for the MIAC lead with five triples, and added three home runs. In 2025, Tautges had seven multi-RBI games, including three contests with three RBI. Tautges, who had an eight game-hitting streak, finished with 13 multi-hit games, including four games of three hits. She had a team-best 18-game streak of reaching base. Defensively, she maintained a .969 fielding percentage with 69 assists and 79 putouts. Her career numbers are equally impressive: .384 batting average (9th all-time, CSB), 109 hits, 19 home runs (3rd all-time, CSB), 76 RBI, and a .683 slugging percentage (2
nd all-time, CSB).
Bryn Ruhberg | Junior | Catcher/Outfield | Lino Lakes, Minn.
Ruhberg, who was recently named all-region by the NFCA, emerged as one of the MIAC's most versatile and dangerous hitters. She led CSB with a .383 batting average (8th, MIAC) and in the MIAC ranked second in slugging percentage (.670), third in on-base percentage (.504), and third in OPS (1.174). She added five home runs (5th MIAC), 35 RBI (5th, MIAC), and led the MIAC with 15 hit-by-pitches. Playing both catcher and outfield, Ruhberg hit an astounding .488 with an .837 slugging percentage in 22 games behind the plate, while batting .295 in 17 games in the outfield. This season, Ruhberg had 11 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games, including two games with four RBI. Additionally, she had a streak of 17 games in which she reached base. She finished the season with a .973 fielding percentage, 93 putouts, and 16 assists. Over her three-year career, she has a .323 average, five home runs, 19 doubles, and 54 RBI, and holds the school record for being hit by a pitch 26 times. Ruhberg was also honored as a MIAC Offensive Player of the Week in 2025.
Megan Erickson | Senior | Catcher/Outfield | Randolph, Minn.
In 39 games, Erickson hit .333 with 38 hits, including 13 extra base hits, and 28 RBI. She had a .509 slugging percentage and .341 on-base percentage. Erickson, who had a seven-game hitting streak, totaled nine multi-hit games, including three contests of three hits. She also had six multi-RBI games including a high of four (UW-Eau Claire, 2/23/2025). In her career, she finished with 123 hits, nine home runs (T-9
th all-time at CSB), 32 doubles (5
th all-time, CSB), 92 RBI (5
th all-time, CSB), 134 career games, and 125 starts. She finished with a .485 slugging mark and .364 on-base percentage in her career. In 2025, she twice was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Ellie Peterson | Junior | Pitcher | St. Anthony Village, Minn.
A three-time All-MIAC honoree, the standout junior finished with a team-high 12 wins (12-7), which was fifth in the league and had 13 complete games, three shutouts, 21 starts and 25 appearances while compiling an ERA of 3.17 and a 1.31 WHIP. She recorded 73 strikeouts (8
th, MIAC) in 130.1 innings (3
rd, MIAC). With a .251 opponents batting average, she was fifth in the MIAC. For her career, Peterson has a 2.88 ERA in 360 career innings and nine shutouts, as she ranks sixth all-time at CSB in both categories. With 40 career wins, she is fifth in school history and her 70 appearances is seventh all-time at CSB. With 60 starts she is fifth in school history. In addition, Peterson has 36 complete games for seventh all-time in program history.
Olivia Wallace | Junior | Pitcher | Maple Grove, Minn.
Wallace, who had an 11-5 record, finished fourth in the MIAC with a 2.16 ERA. She had a 1.40 WHIP with 15 starts in 22 appearances, recording eight complete games and three shutouts. In 97.1 innings, she recorded 55 strikeouts and also had a team-high two saves. In her career, Wallace has a 2.97 ERA with 16 wins, 56 appearances, 16 complete games, 34 starts, 212.1 innings with 118 strikeouts. Wallace also earned MIAC Pitcher of the Week in 2025.
