Biography

2023: Carlstrom earned Academic All-District and Academic All MIAC. She holds a batting average of .313, (fifth of the team, 34th in the MIAC) on base percentage of .364, 99 at bats and 31 hits putting her at fourth on the team, nine of those scoring including five doubles and one home run. Her 11 RBIs put her fifth on the team. She had eight multi-hit games, currently has a 6-hit hitting streak, and has a reached base streak of eight. In the field, she has 167 chances, 139 putouts, and a fielding percentage of .994.  Carlstrom is first in Most times grounded into DP with 2 this season. 

2022: Earned All-MIAC First Team honors for the second straight season ... led the team and finished seventh in the MIAC with 28 RBIs ... finished second in the league with 14 doubles ... finished second on the team with 42 hits, including a grand slam against St. Olaf.

2021: Named MIAC Rookie of the Year at the end of the season ... also earned All-MIAC First Team honors ... finished second on the team with a .347 batting average, and hit .370 in MIAC play ... struck out just once all season ... finished the season with 26 hits and 21 RBIs ... played in 27 games, mostly at shortstop ... recorded just four errors and finished the year with a .929 fielding percentage.

High School: Carlstrom is a 2020 graduate of Rochester Mayo High School where she competed in softball and swim and dive for five seasons. She was also part of the Rochester Swim Club/Med City Aquatics club swim team and the Rochester Royals and Minnesota A’s club softball teams. Her accomplishments for softball include All-Conference in 2017 and 2018, All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2019, All-Section MFCA honors in 2019 and both All-State Academic honors and Big 9 Scholar Athlete Honor Roll in 2020. She also earned all-conference swim and dive honors from 2016-18 and qualified for the state meet in 2016 and 2017. Carlstrom’s proudest moment is getting fifth at nationals in the summer after getting knocked into the loser’s bracket in the first round of play. She was also played in – and won - a 17-inning softball game in eighth grade against Faribault.
 
Personal: Bryn is the daughter of Mark and Tricia Carlstrom and she has one sibling, Alexa. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and family, and playing or watching sports. While at CSB/SJU she plans on majoring in accounting. She is looking for to being able to continue playing softball at a competitive collegiate level while also being able to get a good a good education for after college.
