ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – In her debut weekend with the College of Saint Benedict basketball team, sophomore guard Drew Buslee made an immediate impact—earning The House / St. Cloud Orthopedics CSB Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Bennies to a perfect 2-0 start and capturing Most Valuable Player recognition at the CSB Tipoff Tournament.

Buslee, a native of Eagan, Minn., averaged 16.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals across the two victories. Her sharp shooting and leadership helped Saint Benedict open the season in dominant fashion.

She set the tone in CSB's 91-57 win over Minnesota-Morris on Friday (Nov. 7) as she scored a career-high 22 points in just 20 minutes. Buslee connected on 6-of-12 shots from the field, including a blistering 5-of-7 from beyond the arc, and went a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. She also contributed two rebounds, two steals, and three assists in the victory.

The following day, Buslee helped the Bennies recorded a dramatic a 51-50 win over Bethany Lutheran, finishing with 10 points, two rebounds, and one steal while again shooting a flawless 6-for-6 from the line.

With a strong start, Buslee and the Bennies now turn their attention to Wednesday's home matchup against the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Claire Lynch Hall.
