Jon Roesch named College of Saint Benedict Assistant Athletic Director

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – Jon Roesch, who has substantial administrative, teaching, and coaching experience, has been named Assistant Athletic Director at the College of Saint Benedict, according to an announcement today (August 12) by CSB Director of Athletics Kelly Anderson Diercks.

Roesch, of Sauk Rapids, Minn., joins the CSB Athletics staff where he will assist Anderson Diercks in providing strategic direction and administrative oversight of CSB Athletics. He will serve as a member of the department's leadership team while being tasked with various administration responsibilities. In this role, Roesch will oversee athletic training, strength and conditioning, athletic media relations, game day operations as well as campus recreation, club sports and concessions. He will also participate in athletic department fundraisers, oversee student-athlete programming, and serve as advisor for the student-athlete advisory committee.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Jon to the CSB Athletics family," stated Anderson Diercks. "Throughout the interview process, it became clear that his experience, passion and values matched what we were looking for in this role," she said.
 
Roesch joins CSB after service as a mathematics teacher and coach at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School since 2001 where he was also involved in administration duties, including budgeting, chairing search committees, and supervising and mentoring student teachers and practicum students.
 
"I am honored to join The College of Saint Benedict as the new Assistant Athletic Director.  I am excited for the opportunity to work with our student-athletes, coaches, and staff to build on the strong foundation of our athletic programs.  I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of CSB athletics," said Roesch.
 
While at Sauk Rapids, he has served in various coaching roles, including head girls' basketball coach from 2018-23, weight room supervisor and head boys' basketball coach.
 
A former St. Cloud State University assistant men's basketball coach (2011-18), he served as a mathematics teacher, head boys basketball coach and assistant football coach at Montgomery-Lonsdale High School in Montgomery, Minn., from 1997-2001. Roesch was mathematics teacher and both an assistant boys' basketball and assistant varsity football coach at Harris-Lake Park Community Schools in Lake Park, Iowa in 1993-97.
 
Roesch earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Minnesota-Morris in 1993 before later receiving his Master of Arts degree in kinesiology (sports management) from the University of Minnesota-Twins Cities in 2002.
 
He is a past member of the Minnesota Basketball Coach Association Board of Directors and has been the 3A Boys Basketball of Coach of the Year in 2002-03 when he was also the Boys Basketball Section 8-3A Coach of the Year and the Central Lakes Conference Coach of the Year. He was also the Minnesota River Conference Coach of the Year in 1999-2000. Roesch has been awarded the Principal's Award at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. Additionally, he has been a member of the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association, Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics, past president of the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association, and member of the Minnesota Girls Basketball Association while serving as an advisor for Lead Connections.

The College of Saint Benedict is composed of 12 varsity intercollegiate teams involving nearly 275 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swim and dive, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, and volleyball.
