MOORHEAD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team (2-3-0, 2-0-0 MIAC) rallied from a two-goal, third-period deficit to record a dramatic 5-4 overtime road win over Concordia-Moorhead (1-2-0, 0-2-0 MIAC) on
Corrine Brown's game winner eight seconds into overtime.
With the victory, the Bennies improved to 2-3 overall and with a second straight win over Concordia (5-2, Thursday, Nov. 9), sit in a four-way tie for first place at the top of the MIAC. CSB is tied with No. 1 Gustavus, Bethel and Augsburg at 2-0.

Lindsay Macy was proud of her team's resilience and focus in overcoming a two-goal deficit late in the game.
"I'm super proud of the team for overcoming that deficit in the third against a talented goalie," said Macy, who improved to 16-15 at CSB. "This team showed resilience and never stopped competing," she said.
After a scoreless first period, Saint Ben's took the first lead of the game when junior
Emma Rooks scored her second goal of the season after receiving a feed from first-year defender
Emily Wendorf at 4:50. Wendorf recorded her first career point and Rooks scored the 12
th goal of her career.
Concordia tied the game a few minutes later when Sandra Sampson recorded a goal off an assist from Lila Lanctot at 7:17.
The Bennies took a 2-1 lead when junior
Aurora Opsahl netted her first goal of the season and the 19th of her career three minutes later (3:13) to give the Bennies their second lead of the game.
The Cobbers tied the game as Taylor Severson scored at the six-minute mark of the second period. Taylyn Cope and Paige Hanson registered the assists on the tally.
In the third period, Concordia opened up a 4-2 lead after an unassisted goal from Jaclyn Lloyd at 2:48 and a power play goal from McKenzie Oelkers, who was assisted by Paige Hanson and Grace Doerring.
Facing a two-goal deficit, the Bennies responded as Wendorf recorded her first career goal at the 6:17 mark of the period. At the 15:25 mark, junior forward
Ava Stinnett tied the game at 4-4 with a team-leading third goal of the season. Stinnett recorded her 15
th career goal and sent the game into overtime and set the stage for Brown's heroics.
CSB goaltender
Kate Moffat made nine saves and allowed four goals in 60:08 minutes of ice time. The Bennies had a 34-to-13 shots edge, including a team-high seven shots by
Shae Stinnett.
Corrine Brown also recorded six shots including her first game-winning goal.
Next for CSB will be a series with St. Scholastica on Nov. 17-18. The Bennies host the Saints on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m., at Ritsche Arena before going to Duluth, Minn., for a 4 p.m., game on Saturday.
