MORRIS, Minn. -- The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team rallied from a 0-2 deficit and fought its way back to claim a 3-2 victory over the University of Minnesota Morris in non-conference action on Wednesday night at James Gremmels Court. With the win, the Bennies move to 6-3 overall on the season.
During the first two sets, the Bennies struggled to find their offensive rhythm, hitting just .073 and .032 respectively. A few CSB service miscues, combined with a strong blocking effort for the Cougars, led to two quick sets.

Saint Ben's hit .323 in the set, while holding the Cougars to just a .086 hitting percentage. The Bennies could feel the momentum swinging and kept the foot on the gas out-hitting Morris .244 to .053 in the fourth set as they went on to win 25-19 and force the fifth and final set.
Saint Ben's saved its best offensive set for last as the Bennies posted 10 kills on 22 swings with just one error, good for a .409 hitting percentage. Both teams traded points to a 4-4 tie before CSB used two service aces, a kill and a Courgar attack error to take an 8-5 lead and force a Morris time out. The Cougars gave it everything they had down the stretch, but CSB had an answer for every Morris play.
