ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team is taking on a fierce competitor in a single-game home stand on Tuesday to put themselves to the test before the finish out the regular season. CSB is hosting No. 4 UW-River Falls on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Ritsche Arena with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.
Per MIAC and CSB policy, fans must be masked at all times. All spectators are encouraged to sit in pods with the people they came to the game with, and to distance themselves from other pods. Fans exhibiting symptoms of COVID or who are generally feeling unwell are asked to please stay home. Live stats and video are available here.
About the Falcons
The Falcons have had an impressive season this year, boasting a 20-1 overall record with their only loss coming from then-third ranked UW-Eau Claire. In their latest series against UW-Superior, they swept the Yellowjackets with a 6-1 win on Friday afternoon and a 5-1 win Saturday night. Senior Callie Hoff leads the Falcons in goals with 18, is tied for first in assists with 29, and leads the team in points with 47 total.
Last Meeting
The last time the Bennies and the Falcons met was back in January of 2016 where the Falcons outscored the Bennies 11-1 to hand them a loss in River Fall, Wis.
The Storyline
The Bennies are gearing up for their final two MIAC series before the all-comers tournament after this single contest against UW-River Falls. The Bennies are 9-7-1 overall, 5-4-1 in MIAC play after winning one game against Concordia and tying the second game but getting the extra point in the shootout win.
Who to Watch
Sophomore Corrine Brown scored two goals and had one assist in the team's series against Concordia. Brown now has four goals and four assists on the season. First year Jenna Timm continues to lead the team in points with 13 total, sharing the team lead in goals with senior Annika Brodt with five goals and team lead in assists with fellow first year Ava Stinnett with eight assists.
