NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict (12-5-1, 8-2-1 MIAC, 2nd) battled with league leader Carleton College (12-1-3, 8-0-3) to the end in a 2-2 tie which closed the regular season.

With the tie, Carleton College edged out the Bennies for the league regular season title. With a win today, CSB would have edged the Knights for the title. In its final 13 matches this year, CSB had 10 wins, a tie and two losses.

In the match today, CSB led, 2-1, scoring a pair of second half goals following a 0-0 draw at halftime. However, Carleton's Casey McVeagh scored a goal in the final seconds to draw the match even.

CSB opened the second half scoring as senior Cecelia Miller scored her second goal of the year at 53:45 on an assist from Abby Willenbring. Carleton tied it a few minutes later on Hadley Twichell's goal (assisted by Ashlyn Haigh and Casey McVeagh). At 63:43, Addison Stephani gave CSB a 2-1 lead, scoring her fourth goal of the season.

Then, McVeagh found the net to gain a tie in the final minute.
