ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – For the first time in more than a month, the College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team hits the pool this weekend for a MIAC dual.
The Bennies – who last competed on Dec. 5 – host Carleton College at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in a conference dual meet at the Palaestra Pool on the SJU campus in Collegeville. Per campus policy, the only spectators allowed at the meet must be on a pre-approved pass list put together by CSB swim and dive coaches ahead of Saturday's meet. Spectators must be masked at all times, and are encouraged to sit in pods with the people they came with and to distance themselves from other pods.
Fans who are exhibiting COVID symptoms or generally feeling unwell are asked to please stay home. Live video will be available
here.
Saturday marks just the second home meet of the season for Saint Benedict and the first since the Bennies hosted Macalester on Oct. 29. CSB is 3-3 in dual meets heading into the weekend with wins against the Scots, Concordia and Jamestown.
The last time CSB competed was the three-day Rochester Invite in early December. Senior
Ana Birklid set school records in the 100 and 200 IM, and the Bennies finished the weekend with a handful of times in the top 10 in program history.
Jessica Milstroh,
Jocie Larson,
Emi Wagner and Birklid teamed up to swim the third-best 200 free relay time in program history at the meet, and Milstroh moved up or into the top 10 in the 100 fly, 100 breaststroke and 100 IM.
CSB heads into Saturday's meet looking for its first dual win against the Knights since 2016. Carleton won 189-108 the last time the two teams met on Jan. 19, 2019, in Collegeville.
