Live Stats/Video

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team is back at home again this weekend after nail-biter 1-0 win over Concordia Wednesday. The Bennies play Augsburg on home turf on Saturday, Oct. 2, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Saint Benedict is looking to pick up its first win over the Auggies since 2018 Saturday. Live stats and video are available here.

About the Auggies

The Auggies are 5-3-1 so far this season and 2-1-0 in the MIAC. Their last game was against the Carleton Knights, which they won 2-1. Junior Jennifer Bobaric leads the Auggies with eight goals and senior goalkeeper Aspen Brockhouse has a 1.64 goals-against average, nine saves, and a 4-1 record.

Last Meeting

The last time the Bennies and the Auggies met was in April 2021 and Augsburg would have the advantage in a 1-0 win over CSB that day. The Bennies had a total of 12 shots on goal during the game, and Clair Lehmann and Lana Krautkremer each had three shots a piece. Goalkeeper Paige Kahlmeyer had five saves total. This is the first time Augsburg has played in St. Joe since Sept. 20, 2017.

The Storyline

CSB continued its win streak on Wednesday, picking up their second straight MIAC win over with a close victory over Concordia. Chloe Miller scored her first goal of her junior season to bring the Bennies to a 1-0 win over the Cobbers. Goalkeeper Paige Kahlmeyer had two saves in the first half and Annie Waters had four saves in the second half to secure the win. After several scoreless weeks, the Bennies have scored six goals in two games and look to keep that streak going. CSB – which hasn't given up a goal since Sept. 15 – also looks to continue to keep its opponents off the scoreboard.

Who to Watch

Erica Golenzer and Roxy Veldman both have four goals and one assist on the season to lead the team. Sydney Burns leads the team in assists with three. Goalkeeper Annie Waters has a 0.84 goals-against average, 23 saves, and a 3-1-2 record and Paige Kahlmeyer has a 0.69 goals-against average, 19 saves, and a 1-2 record. Six different players have scored for CSB in the past two games, and all three of the team's keepers have seen time in net.
