WHITEWATER, Wis. – Ashley Tarrolly made it to the round of 16 and Tarrolly and Lily Fredericks teamed up to make the quarterfinals, but both fell in the second day of the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament Saturday in Whitewater, Wis.

After picking up a singles win in her only match of the day Friday, Tarrolly started Day 2 of the tournament with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Saint Mary's Natalie Peterson – her former teammate at St. Cloud Tech High School – to advance to the round of 16. In her third match of the tournament she ran into UW-La Crosse's Kimmy Steinert and lost 6-0, 6-2.

The duo of Tarrolly and Fredericks beat UW-Whitewater's Courtney Day and Molly Rueth 8-6 to start their Saturday and move on to the ITA doubles quarterfinals, but lost 8-3 to UW-Eau Claire's Lindsey Henderson and Elaine Franta.

"Lily and Ashley have to be proud of the weekend they put in," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "It's always disappointing to lose in any tournament, but they both took big steps forward for themselves and the tennis program. Overall, the team had a great fall and we set ourselves up for a great season in the spring."

The weekend tournament wrapped up the fall portion of the 2021 season for the Bennies. They kick off the spring season - including MIAC play - in February 2022.
