Madison Weiss is no stranger to being recognized for her work in the classroom alongside her work on the court.
Weiss, a biology major with a 3.88 GPA, earned CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team honorees, it was announced Wednesday afternoon by CoSIDA. This is just the second time in CSB history two athletes from the same team have earned Academic All-America in the same year, and the first time since 1992 when Jacque Dahle and Christi Dold both earned the honor for softball.
Madison joins Isabelle Aragon-Menzel (Colorado College), Adair Cutler (Hope College), Kate Holtan (Gustavus Adolphus College), McKenna Otto (Hope College), and Reagan Stone (Ithaca College) on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team.
Madison also left her mark on the court during her career with CSB Volleyball. Madison is just the second athlete in program history to finish a career with more than 1,000 kills and 500 blocks. She also set the school record for blocks in a season in 2019. She also finished the 2020-21 season with a .265 hitting percentage and finishes second in CSB history with a .357 hitting percentage. In 2019 she led all levels of NCAA volleyball with 205 total blocks and finished first in the MIAC and in Division III with 1.75 blocks per set and a .422 hitting percentage.
