ST. PAUL, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team wrapped up its Spring 2021 season Sunday afternoon with a 6-0 loss to St. Kate's.
The Wildcats (4-0) scored in the sixth minute, which ended up being all the goals they would need.
Roxy Veldman and
Erica Golenzer both put shots on net, but both were saved. St. Kate's scored again in the 25
th minute to make it 2-0.
Claire Parham put a shot on net a few minutes later, but that was also saved.
Coming out of halftime, the Wildcats scored four times in five minutes to wrap up scoring. Veldman added two more shots on net in the second half, and
Sophia Marvin added a shot on net. Maren Nobel put up a late shot but it went wide.
Veldman finished with three shots on net to pace the Bennies, who had six shots on net to the Wildcats' 13. Sophomore goalie
Paige Kahlmeyer wrapped up her season with seven saves, which ties her career best.
Sunday's game marked the final game in a Bennie uniform for the team's five seniors: Noble, Marvin,
Abby Worthington,
Karen Phillips and
Maggie Tolley. The fivesome helped CSB to a trio of top-five MIAC finishes and three trips to the conference tournament.
