HASTINGS, Minn. – With three holes left to play in the 2020-21 MIAC Championships, Emily Renner was seven over on the day and in a tie for 10th place.

On hole No. 7, Renner – a first year on the College of Saint Benedict golf team – made her move.

Renner birdied each of the last three holes to finish one under on the front nine and four over on the day and in a tie for seventh after the three-round tournament. The top-10 finish ensures Renner All-MIAC First Team honors when the conference awards are announced later this month.

Renner was the top finisher for Saint Benedict, which finished fifth in the team standings. The Bennies shot a three-round total of 971 – the third-best 54-hole team score in program history. CSB wrapped up the tournament with a 328 in Sunday's third round at Emerald Greens in Hastings.

St. Kate's ran away with the team title after shooting a field-low 298 Sunday and a three-round total of 909. The Wildcats earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Golf National Championships. Gustavus took second with a 938, Carleton finished third with a 940 and Bethel took fourth with a 947.

Renner shot in the 70s all three days, and her 76 Sunday ties for the sixth-best individual 18-hole score in program history. Her three-round total of 233 is tied for the third-best 54-hole individual score in CSB history. Her 76 on Sunday was the third-best third-round score of any of the MIAC golfers.

Bridget Amundson, Emily Olson and Grace Hillemeier all finished in the top 30 for the Bennies. Amundson finished tied for 23rd with a 243 after wrapping up her fourth and final MIAC Championships with an 86. Olson – the team's other senior – tied for 26th with a 245. She shot an 84 Sunday in her final round.
