ST. JOSEPH, Minn. –After a tough road loss to Bethel on Wednesday, the College of Saint Benedict volleyball team looks to bounce back Monday with another road game – this time at Saint Mary's.

The Bennies look to take advantage of every opportunity they have to compete with only three matches left on the Spring 2021 schedule. Monday's contest starts at 7 p.m. in Winona. Per MIAC policy no fans are allowed, but live stats and video are available.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS
The Cardinals improved to 5-1 overall and picked up their fifth straight win Saturday with a 3-2 victory over Gustavus. Linnaea Wallace earned MIAC Athlete of the Week honors after recording nearly 50 kills and 50 digs in two matches. She leads the MIAC in kills (105) and is second with 108 digs.

LAST MEETING
Saint Mary's handed CSB its second loss of the season in 2019, beating the Bennies 3-1 on Oct. 11 in Winona. CSB won the first set 25-18, but the Cardinals came back to win the next three, including a tight 25-23 victory in the third set. Hunter Weiss had 11 kills and Madison Weiss had 10 kills and 11 blocks, and Katie Koch finished with 33 assists.

THE STORYLINE
After playing consistently all season, CSB's offense faltered against the Royals. The Bennies hit just .133 on the night and recorded 35 kills. Saint Benedict looks to improve that percentage - and kill total - Monday in Winona as it takes on a scrappy Saint Mary's team that has found a way to pick up some big wins this spring.

WHO TO WATCH:
Senior Madison Weiss made history in the team's loss at Bethel. The middle hitter finished the night with eight kills - enough to push her over the 1,000-kill milestone in her career. She joins Tina Kampa as the only two players in program history to record 1,000 kills and 500 blocks.
