ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a long, back-and-forth rivalry with St. Thomas, Wednesday's game may be the last between the Tommies and the College of Saint Benedict basketball team. With the Tommies heading to Division I in 2021-22, CSB looks to come out strong against an always tough UST squad and end the rivalry on a high note.

Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 in Claire Lynch Hall. This marks the first home game for Saint Benedict since Feb. 13. Per MIAC policy no fans are allowed, but live stats and video are available here.

ABOUT THE TOMMIES
After two early wins, St. Thomas took two weeks off due to COVID protocols and got back into action with a 30-point win at Saint Mary's last week. Macy Hatlestad leads the team in scoring (18.0) and also averages 7.0 rebounds per game, while Allie Spaulding leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game.

LAST MEETING
The Tommies swept the 2019-20 season series with CSB, winning 64-56 on Jan. 11 in St. Paul, and then 70-40 on Feb. 15 in St. Joseph. Saint Benedict led by three with less than four minutes to play in the January game, but the Tommies outscored CSB 9-1 in the final 2:50 of the game. Maddie Schmitz led the team with 13 points and Madison Doran had a then-career-high 10 points.

THE STORYLINE
After a slow three quarters Sunday at Gustavus, CSB finally found its rhythm offensively and scored 33 fourth-quarter points to finish within 10 of the Gusties. That marked the first time this season the Bennies hadn't scored 70 or more points. CSB looks to get back to its high-scoring ways Wednesday against another high-scoring team in the Tommies.

WHO TO WATCH
Kate Seyer upped her career-best with 18 points Sunday in the team's loss at Gustavus. She is one of five Bennies averaging double-digits in scoring, joining Maddie Schmitz (20.8), Carla Meyer (11), Madison Doran (10.8) and Tori Szathmary (10.3). Schmitz is still averaging a double-double with 14 rebounds per game to go with her 20-plus points.
