ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team gets one more shot at beating St. Thomas Friday night in St. Paul. After this year, the Tommies are transitioning to Division I starting in the 2021-22 season, so the Bennies are looking to send their rivalry with the Tommies out with a bang - and a win.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights. Per MIAC policy no fans are allowed, but live video and stats are available here.

ABOUT THE TOMMIES
After starting its season with a 5-2 win Sunday in St. Cloud, St. Thomas fell 4-3 to a tough Hamline team Wednesday. After going down 4-1 early in the third, the Tommies scored a pair of third-period goals, but it wasn't enough. Isabel Lippai and Alyssa Wallace lead the Tommies with two goals each, and Eryn Cooley has spent the majority of the time in net for UST.

LAST MEETING
The Tommies used a pair of power-play goals to seal a 5-2 win over Saint Benedict less than a week ago in St. Cloud. A fast first period saw the Tommies take a 2-1 lead, but Riley Schneider scored the game at 2-2 early in the second. UST scored late in the second, and added two more goals in the third. Rachel DeCesare scored the first goal of her career in the first period.

THE STORYLINE
Saint Benedict is still trying to get its offense firing, but the Bennies scored a pair of goals and put 22 shots on net Wednesday in an overtime tie at Saint Mary's. CSB knows it will need even more offensive firepower against a solid UST squad that has put more than 30 shots on net in each of its first two games.

WHO TO WATCH:
First year Brynn Sexauer had a big night Wednesday to help the Bennies leave Winona with a tie on their record. After recording her first collegiate assist Sunday, she scored not one but two goals Wednesday - including one in the final minute of regulation to send the game to overtime. Goalie Maggie Gilchrist stopped 31 shots in her junior debut in net.
