ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a four-point, short-handed loss on the road to Concordia on Feb. 10, the College of Saint Benedict basketball team hasn't had the opportunity to play since. The Bennies look to come back strong Sunday, Feb. 21, when they head to St. Peter to take on Gustavus in their first game in nearly two weeks.

ABOUT THE GUSTIES
Gustavus played a single game - an 18-point win at Augsburg - on Feb. 6 before having its next four games postponed or canceled due to COVID protocols. Three players scored at least 17 points for the Gusties in the win, including Caitlin Rorman with 25. Anna Sanders led the team with seven rebounds, and Ava Gonsorowski had six assists. Gustavus shot 53 percent from the field in the win.
LAST MEETING
Saint Benedict and the Gusties split last season, with each team winning on the road. After dropping a 10-point game to Gustavus on Dec. 11 in Claire Lynch, the Bennies went to St. Peter and beat a ranked Gustavus team 64-53 on the Gusties' home court.
Maddie Schmitz led the team with 23 points and seven rebounds, and the Bennies held Gustavus to a 31 percent field-goal percentage.
THE STORYLINE
CSB's offense is fast and high-scoring in 2021. The Bennies have scored 70 or more points in all three games, marking the first time since 2017-18 the team has had three straight 70-plus point performances. Five different players currently average double digits in scoring for CSB.
WHO TO WATCH
Maddie Schmitz continued her dominant ways against Concordia, adding another 22 points and 10 rebounds to her season total - her third straight 20-point performance and double-double.
Carla Meyer also had a second straight eight-assist game on Feb. 10, and
Madison Doran scored a career-best 16 points to keep the short-handed Bennies in the game against the Cobbers.
