ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After starting MIAC play with a nontraditional sweep of Bethel, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team hits the road Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19-20, for a pair of road games against Saint Mary's. The two teams play at 7 p.m. Friday and again at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Saint Mary's Ice Arena in Winona.

Per MIAC policy, fans must be masked in the rink at all times. Live stats and video are available.

About the Cardinals
Saint Mary's is 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC and coming off a sweep of Concordia last weekend. The Cardinals won 3-2 Friday and then 3-1 Saturday against the Cobbers. Nine different Cardinals have scored this season, and Jenna Kurkowski leads the team with two goals while Jordan Modjeski has a team-high two assists. Jordan Keeley is fourth in the MIAC with a 2.00 goals-against average and she also has 76 saves.

Last Meeting
CSB and Saint Mary's played twice last year, both times in Winona, and the two teams tied in overtime and then the Cardinals won the last game of the season for both teams. Brynn Sexauer scored twice – including on the power play in the final minute of regulation – on Feb. 17 to help the Bennies tie the Cardinals 2-2 in overtime. Maggie Gilchrist made 31 saves. Gilchrist added another 31 saves on March 13 in the season-ending loss.

The Storyline
After beating Bethel 4-1 last Friday, the Bennies got a win – and a night off – Saturday after the Royals forfeit due to COVID19 policies. The team looks to stay in the win column as it hits the ice again Friday in Winona. After starting the season with three straight losses, the Bennies are on a three-game win streak, and hope to continue that and beat the Cardinals for the first time since Feb. 21, 2020.

Who to Watch
Saint Benedict's first years have been key for the team's offense so far this season. Ava Stinnett is second in the MIAC with seven points and tied for third with four assists, and she and Kennedy Morris are tied for the team lead with three goals. Eight players have scored for CSB so far this season, and six of those are first years. Gilchrist is 2-1 in net with 61 saves and a 2.34 goals-against average.
