CSB volleyball ready for another busy weekend at UWRF

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After a strong showing by the College of Saint Benedict volleyball team and a 3-0 finish at its home tournament this past weekend, CSB is now 7-1 overall. This weekend, the team travels to UW-River falls for a four-game tournament with matches against UW-Superior, Hamline, Northwestern, and Northland College.

CSB plays two games Friday, Sept. 13, at 3:30  and 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday the team play at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

About the Yellow Jackets
UW-Superior is 4-5 on the season, and it will be heading into the weekend with on a three-game losing streak. Cami Sletta, the UMAC player of the week, is leading the Yellow Jackets with 119 kills.

About the Pipers
Hamline University is coming into this weekend on a four-game winning streak, and the Pipers' only loss this season is to Lewis and Clark, putting their record at 6-1. Gabby Robinson is leading the team so far with 57 kills and Maggie Gavic has 94 digs.

About the Eagles
University of Northwestern is 3-2 this season after losses to Bethel and CSB. The Eagles are on a one-game losing streak right now, they have two games before the tournament so they will be ready to play on Saturday.

About the Lumberjills
Northland College is 4-4 after beating Finlandia, Martin Luther, Mount Mary and Crown, and they will be the last team CSB faces at the tournament. Kennedi Bernia has 98 digs to her name, Emma Rusch has 189 assists, and leading the Lumberjills in kills is Bailey Wynn with 69.

Who to Watch
For the second week in a row, Hunter Weiss received the MIAC Athlete of the Week honor. She leads the team with 101 kills, averaging 4.04 kills per set. Madison Weiss is not far behind her with 83 kills and 36 blocks.
