ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict basketball team won a huge MIAC game Thursday in front of its home crowd, and CSB looks to take advantage of that home court again Saturday. CSB hosts Macalester at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in a MIAC contest in Claire Lynch.
Saturday's game marks the beginning of the last month of the regular season for CSB. The match up with the Scots is one of five games left on the schedule for Saint Benedict, and three of the team's five games to wrap up the regular season are on the road.
ABOUT THE SCOTS
Macalester is 4-16 overall, 2-11 in the MIAC and looking to snap a three-game losing streak Saturday. The Scots' opponents have scored 99 points or more each of the last two games. Justine Barraza leads the team in scoring (12.9) and Kayla Togneri is 10th in the MIAC with rebounds 6.9 per game.
LAST MEETING
CSB turned a 14-point second-quarter deficit into a four-point win when the two teams met the first time this season in St. Paul. After going down 36-25 at halftime, CSB outscored the Scots 23-6 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
Maddie Schmitz led four players in double digits with 17 points and
Alex Johnson had 13 points and nine rebounds.
THE STORYLINE
Saint Benedict picked up a huge MIAC win Thursday when it beat Bethel 81-78, and the team looks to use that momentum to end the regular season on a high note. CSB is in sixth with five games left in the regular season, and it looks to move up to solidify its spot in the conference tournament.

Six players scored in double digits Wednesday against the Royals.
McKenzie Holgate had a career-high 16 points,
Sidney Schiffler had 10 points and the game-winning three and
Alex Johnson finished with 16 pionts and 13 rebounds.
