ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The CSB hockey team is off to a promising start this season, winning its first game 3-1 over Concordia. The team is looking use that win as momentum heading into a pair of MIAC games this weekend against Bethel. On Friday, Nov. 15, CSB hosts the Royals in St. Cloud at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Bennies travel to Blaine for a 2 p.m. game.
About the Royals
Bethel is looking for consistency after back-to-back losses early this season. The Royals have played three non-conference games so far against Northland and UW-Eau Claire. They lost to Eau Claire 3-0 and split with Northland, winning 3-0 and falling 2-0. Last season, Bethel was 6-14-5 overall and 3-10-5 in the conference. Makenzie Baker, Bri Stafne, and Lexi DeBace all have one goal this season for the Royals. Stafne also led the team last year with 10 goals on the season. In net Baleigh Shuck has a .939 save percentage with 46 saves so far this season.
Last Meeting
The last time these teams faced off Bethel pulled off two victories, beating CSB Friday in Blaine 5-3 and Saturday 2-1 in St. Cloud. The games were close, with the Bennies outshooting Bethel 30-24 and 29-23, but CSB just wasn't able to find the back of the net.
The Storyline
Last year the CSB hockey team ended 7-14-2, with some new faces and their solid team foundation they are looking to continue to grow those numbers. They showed they are ready for the season after beating Concordia 3-1 in their home opener. CSB hopes to get a pair of conference wins this weekend to keep the momentum going into the rest of the season.

Courtney Conlin had a big impact last season and is looking to do the same this year, she has one goal on the season so far.
