COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict swim and dive team had a trio of individuals pick up wins Saturday afternoon when the team competed at home for the first time in 2018-19.

Mallory Jarvi and
Ana Birklid all won at least one event for CSB in its MIAC dual against Carleton. The Knights won the dual – held at the Palaestra pool on the SJU campus – 189-108.
Von Wahlde won two individual events and took second in a third for Saint Benedict. She swept the backstroke races, winning the 100 in 1:01.57 and the 200 in 2:12.90. She also finished second in the 50 free in 25.67 seconds. Birklid won the 200 IM in 2:18.48 and took second in the 200 free in 2:01.62 and the 200 backstroke in 2:16.53. The duo also teamed up with
Ashley Groebner and Jacque Newhouse to take second in the 200 medley relay in 1:53.88.
Jarvi picked up a win in the three-meter diving competition Saturday. She took first with a score of 240.65, and also finished second on the one-meter board with a score of 225.45.
Maggie Pomerenke took third on the one-meter board with a mark of 210.05 and
Kathryn Ellingson finished third in the three-meter competition with a mark of 164.70.
Morgan Gerhardt picked up a pair of second-place finishes as she took second in both the 500 and 1,650 freestyle races. She finished the 1,650 in 19:21.61 and the 500 in 5:35.50.
Allie Crum took third in both, finishing the mile in 19:57.89 and the 500 in 5:42.34. Groebner finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.33) and the 200 breaststroke (2:34.93) and
Grace Livermore recorded a runner-up finish in the 100 fly (1:06.33).
Lauren Christiansen finished third in the 100 back (1:04.14),
Hannah Svihel took third in the 200 fly (2:32.20),
Zoe Allyson finished third in the 50 free (25.94) and
Claudia Mahoney took third in the 100 free in 57.43 seconds. Mahoney,
Skyler Clough, Allyson and Crum took second in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:56.54.
The CSB swimmers are back at home Saturday, Jan. 26, when it hosts Gustavus in a MIAC dual starting at 1 p.m. on the SJU campus. The diving competition is at Gustavus in St. Peter.
