ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team gets back to MIAC action with a home match against Saint Mary's University Friday night. The conference match starts at 7 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall.
About the Cardinals
The Cardinals are 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC. Saint Mary's is coming into its matchup after picking up its first MIAC win of the year, a 3-1 victory against St. Kate's. The Cardinals are 0-3 in away games as they travels to CSB Friday. Brandi Blattner leads the MIAC with 3.70 kills per set, totaling 196 kills. Lilian Braun is second in the MIAC with 10.13 assists per set, totaling 537 assists. Brittney Flom leads the team with 16 total blocks, and DeJaye Baab has 187 digs.
Last Meeting
CSB beat St. Mary's 3-0 last year in the only meeting of the two teams in Winona. CSB won the first two sets 25-19, and the final set 25-23.
Liz Schultz had 14 kills, five blocks, and 11 digs,
Lauren Mathews had eight blocks, and
Haley LaValle had 10 digs.
The Storyline
The two teams head into this year's match in very different positions record-wise. A win would move CSB to 4-0 in conference play and stay at the top of the MIAC standings, while a win for the Cardinals would move them to 2-2 in MIAC action.

CSB had its six-game winning streak snapped in a 3-1 loss to Morris on Tuesday night at home. Following Tuesday's matches,
