ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team kicks off the week with a home match against University of Minnesota-Morris Tuesday night. The nonconference match starts at 7 p.m. in Claire Lynch Hall.
About the Cougars
The Cougars are 8-8 overall and coming off a 1-1 weekend performance at the UW-Superior Tournament. Morris is 1-4 in away games as it travels to CSB Tuesday. Tori Everson and Rachel Mathias lead the team with 144 kills each, Layne Herrman leads the team with 561 assists, and Morgan Miller leads the team with 54 total blocks.
Last Meeting
CSB beat Morris 3-0 last year in the only meeting of the two teams in Morris. CSB won the first two sets 25-23, and the final set 25-22.
Hunter Weiss had 11 kills,
Madison Weiss had six blocks and
Haley LaValle had 15 digs.
The Storyline
The two teams head into this year's match in very different positions record-wise. A win would move CSB to ten games over .500, while a win for the cougars would move them one game above .500.
Who to Watch
CSB is on a six-game winning streak, including four wins last week. Following Saturday's matches,
Madison Weiss leads the MIAC and with 1.54 blocks per set, and
Hunter Weiss leads the MIAC with 211 kills. Junior libero
