ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team scored a pair of third-period goals, but it wasn't enough as CSB fell 4-2 to St. Kate's Friday night at the MAC in St. Cloud.
Mollie Wise broke up the Wildcats' shutout three minutes into the final period when she got a pass from
Brigette Miller and scooped the puck into the net over the glove of St. Kate's goalie. Saint Benedict (2-14-1, 1-9-1) added one final goal with seven seconds left in the game on the power play and with an extra player on the ice. SCU was called for slashing with just over 30 seconds left to play so CSB pulled goalie
Julia Carle, and
Courtney Conlin took a pass from Miller out in front of the net and sent the puck over the shoulder of the Wildcats' goalie and into the back of the net.
The first 19 minutes of play was scoreless Friday night, but St. Kate's (5-12-1, 4-6-1) got on the board in the final 20 seconds of the period when Brede Postier took a pass from Veronica Gruett and Tori Thompson and skated in to score on Carle with 18 seconds left in the period.
The Wildcats' second goal came five minutes into the second period when Emilee Anderson scored her seventh goal of the season. The Wildcats scored on the power play in the 12
th minute when Morgan Tentis found the back of the net, and St. Kate's finished its scoring for the night in the 15
th minute when Thompson scored to make it 4-0.
CSB finished the night with four penalties to St. Kate's seven, and both teams had 31 shots on net. Carle finished the night with 27 saves, and Miller led the team with six shots on net. Wise added five and

Saint Benedict and the Wildcats face off again at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Drake Arena in St. Paul.
