Mollie Wise scored her seventh goal of the season to help the College of Saint Benedict hockey team to a 1-1 overtime tie with St. Kate's Friday night at Drake Arena in St. Paul.
The tie is the second of the season for CSB, and marks the second MIAC point the team has earned. Saint Benedict is now 3-15-2 overall and 0-11-2 in the conference.
After a scoreless first period, St. Kate's (7-11-2, 3-8-2) got on the board in the 10
th minute of the second when Jordan Solheim scored on the power play. That lead only held for six minutes, however, as Wise scored at the 16:40 mark off an assist from
Maddie Rainey to tie the game 1-1.
Both teams had eight shots on net in the third period, but neither team was able to score. Both team had a pair of shots in overtime as well, but the score stayed tied after the extra five minutes.
Julia Carle finished with 39 saves for Saint Benedict, including 18 in the first period and 11 in the second. She now has 430 saves on the season.
CSB and St. Kate's are back in action at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, when they play again at the MAC in St. Cloud.
