ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict volleyball team is back on the road for a nonconference match after back-to-back sweeps on the road over the weekend. CSB travels to University of Minnesota Morris for a 5 p.m. contest Tuesday, Oct. 3 in Morris, then returns home for a match Friday.
About the Cougars
Morris is 17-4 overall and 2-1 at home. The Cougars are on an eight-game winning streak heading into Tuesday's game. Marissa Ekness leads the team with 299 kills, Layne Herrmann has 768 assists, Katie Reitsma has 441 digs, and Morgan Miller has 72 total blocks.
Last Meeting
Saint Benedict took home a 3-0 victory against Morris on Sept. 8, 2015, in St. Joseph.
Megan Pekarek finished the night with 28 assists and
Lauren Mathews – a first year at the time – had six blocks.

At the front of CSB's offense is first-year
Hunter Weiss, who currently has 156 kills. Junior outside
Liz Schultz follows with 145 kills.
Madison Weiss is second in the MIAC with 1.04 blocks per set and 54 total blocks. This week's MIAC Athlete of the Week
Megan Pekarek is up to 532 assists and is third in the MIAC with 10.23 assists per set.
Haley LaValle leads the CSB defense with 218 digs.
The Storyline
After picking up two road victories this past week, CSB has an overall record of 9-6 and is on a four-game winning streak. Back on the road for one more game, the team looks to improve its overall record against Minnesota-Morris this Tuesday. CSB is back at home against Bethel University in a key MIAC matchup on Oct. 6.
