ST. JOSEPH, Minn. – After playing a rare Wednesday game this week, the College of Saint Benedict hockey team is back in action this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21, when it takes on Bethel in a pair of MIAC games. The two teams play at 7 p.m. Friday in St. Paul and 3 p.m. Saturday at the MAC in St. Cloud.
About the Royals
Bethel is 6-7-2 overall and 3-3-2 and in sixth in the MIAC heading into this weekend. The Royals look to snap a four-game losing streak, including a pair of losses to Augsburg last weekend. Kaitlyn VanTassel leads the team with 13 points and is second in the MIAC with 11 assists, and Wendy Roberts and Sarina Goos both have seven goals. Michelle Klimstra and Maggie Straka have been splitting time in net, and both have more than 185 saves.
Last Year
Bethel swept CSB last season. The Royals won 3-0 Friday in St. Paul, and then won 2-1 the next day in St. Cloud.
Kimberly Patterson scored the lone goal of the weekend for Saint Benedict off an assist from
Kylie Eklund.
The Storyline
Bethel heads into the weekend looking to get back on track after four straight losses, while CSB comes into the weekend looking for its first MIAC win of the year. The Royals are in sixth and look to stay in the top six in the conference as the regular season starts to wind down, and Saint Benedict is looking to pick up some wins to get its season back on track. CSB also looks to take advantage of playing at home while it can as it only has four home games left in the regular season, including Saturday.
