NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict soccer team's season ended with a 1-0 loss to St. Olaf Saturday afternoon in Northfield, Minn.
CSB (9-6-2, 5-5-1) entered the day tied for fifth in the MIAC, but the loss dropped the team into a tie for sixth with Hamline, and the Pipers hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. This marks the second straight year Saint Benedict has missed the MIAC postseason tournament.
The Oles (8-7, 5-6) scored the only goal of the game in the 21
st minute, and that ended up being all the scoring St. Olaf would need.
Cassie Miedema and
Taylor Hedin both had shots on net in the final 25 minutes of the game in an attempt to get on the board, but they couldn't find the back of the net.
Saint Benedict finished with 11 shots to St. Olaf's seven, and held a 4-2 edge in shots on net over the Oles.
