CSB hockey falls to Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team put plenty of pressure on Concordia's goalies Saturday afternoon, but the Blazers fell 3-0 to the Cobbers in a MIAC game in Moorhead, Minn.

The win competed the sweep for the Cobbers, who won 5-0 Friday night. Saint Benedict is now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC and Concordia is 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

The Cobbers opened scoring early when Jessica Kongelf scored two minutes into the first period. Kara Tupa made it 2-0 with 30 seconds remaining in the first, and the score stayed 2-0 until the final three minutes of the third period when Jess Nelson made it 3-0.

CSB had chances to score in the second, including a power play early in the period, but couldn't convert.

The Cobbers had 31 shots to CSB's 29. Brigette Miller finished with five shots on net and Kimberly Patterson and Elli Marvin each added three. First year Angel Hillstrom finished with 28 saves for the Blazers and gave up three goals.
