MOORHEAD, Minn. – The College of Saint Benedict hockey team dropped its MIAC opener 5-0 to Concordia Friday night in Moorhead, Minn.
The Cobbers (1-2, 1-0) got on the board less than four minutes into the first period when Jessica Kongelf scored an unassisted goal. Kongelf scored again in the 16
th minute of the first period to put Concordia up 2-0.
The Cobbers scored twice in the second period – one at 11:04 and then again at the 13:46 mark – and wrapped up scoring for the game with a short-handed goal at the 13:16 mark of the final period.
The Blazers had 27 shots to Concordia's 33.
Liz Hermes led the team with five shots on goal, and
Shelby Schneider,
Brigette Miller and
Maddie Dockry each had four shots on net.
Dory Johnson made 28 saves for CSB, which had four penalties for eight minutes.
The Blazers are now 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC. CSB takes on the Cobbers again at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 in Moorhead.
