Waverly, Iowa – The Saint Benedict soccer team had a tall order ahead of them today (Sept. 7), but they proved they were well up to the task with a 4-1 win over No. 19 Wartburg on the road.

The Blazers got scoring from all across the line-up, with the goals coming from four different players.

Colleen Bouchard led of the scoring with her third of the year, in the first half. Later in the period Kaitlyn Lauer knocked in her first of the season for the eventual game-winner.

Valerie Clintsman then knocked in her first career goal before first half ended. Clinstman's first career point came last season in an assist, also against Wartburg.

Laura Kosch added the extra insurance with the Blazers lone second half goal.

Now at 2-0-1 on the year, the Blazers will look to remain unbeaten when they take on Luther tomorrow at 2 p.m. When the two teams met last season, it was the Blazers pulling away with a 2-0 win at home in the season opener.

The Blazers hot start is their best in the Steve Kimble era, and best overall since starting 3-0 in 2008.
