Last Time Out:
CSB: The Blazers were off last weekend, but the week before opened the season 2-0 at the Colorado College Tip-Off Tournament. Averaging a 14.5 point margin of victory over the two games in Colorado Springs, they opened with a 75-53 win over host Colorado College, and closed the trip with a 71-64 over Nebraska Wesleyan.
UWRF: In one game last week, the Falcons cruised to a 68-34 win over visiting Martin Luther. UWRF led 37-19 at the break and outscored the Knights 31-15 in the second half while shooting 44 percent for the game. The win was their second straight by over 20-points, following a 71-49 win over Lakeland in the opening weekend. In the season opener, the Falcons fell 57-50 to Carthage.
The Storyline:
How will the Blazers handle the best team they have faced yet? The Falcons have won by 34 and 22 points respectively in their last two games, and are coming off a 21-win campaign last season and trip to the NCAA Tournament. Coming off a third place finish in the WIAC standings last season, they were picked for a fourth place tally in the 2012-13 preseason. The Blazers have used late runs to put away their first two wins, helping erase slow starts in the process. A quick start and another strong second half will be key to the Blazers finishing the non-conference season unbeaten.
